Frenectomy: Restoring Oral Mobility and Comfort

A frenectomy is a minimally invasive procedure to treat a “tongue-tie” or “lip-tie.” A frenulum is a small band of tissue; if it is too short or thick, it can cause problems:

  • Speech & Feeding: Restrictive tongue movement can affect speech patterns or nursing in infants.
  • Gap Issues: A thick frenulum between the front teeth can push them apart, causing gaps.
  • Gum Health: Tension from a frenulum can pull the gums away from the teeth, leading to recession.

We use gentle surgical techniques to release this tension, restoring full function and preventing future gum issues. Contact our office to learn more.
